Hashini Gurusinghe

Hashini Gurusinghe is an internationally trained legal professional with experience in civil litigation, criminal prosecution, and administrative law. She is a member of the bar in Sri Lanka and has served as state counsel for the Republic of Seychelles. Additionally, Hashini worked with the United Nations Development Program, consulting with the government of Seychelles to draft legislation and regulations. Hashini brings to Nicol Law a global perspective and expertise in handling complex cases, including sexual assault, drug trafficking, and terrorism.

Since arriving in Canada earlier this year with her permanent residency, Hashini has been diligently working towards obtaining Canadian equivalency through the NCA qualification process. Her ultimate goal is to become a practicing lawyer in Canada.

Currently, Hashini channels her passion for delivering high-quality legal services into her role as a paralegal. She excels in providing client support, conducting legal research, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Hashini holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and a Master’s Degree in Law from Staffordshire University. Her master’s thesis analyzed the evolution and legality of Smart Contracts and their future in business.

She is committed to making the law accessible and understandable to the public by providing better resources. In her free time, Hashini enjoys swimming, hiking, and spending time with her family. She also loves sharing the joy of Sri Lankan and Seychellois cuisine with her Canadian friends.
